Goals

Reflections of Children’s Voice on “Thinking” While Writing & Listening to the Background Music:

One child perceives thinking as when his/her brain starts going crazy and he/she can dream on clouds.
Another child states thinking as a plane.  This child draws this because the music made him/her think of the sky and clouds.
The other child reflects on thinking as the music which has waves, so he/she draws the ocean and doors (Salmon, 2008).

As an Early Childhood Educator, I am evolving with children always consider myself fortunate enough to be surrounded with children and learn together.
As children use the language of thinking and reflect on their thoughts, as the above quote mentions, so do I, while trying to put together my goals and artifacts. In thinking and reflecting on my metaphor, the flower in the garden, connections emerged as the common viewpoints of my learning goals for this graduating project. As the garden provides the flower (regardless of the flower species) with the environment to flourish and thrive, so do early childhood education and care for children. Below I have presented the artifacts by which I, as an early childhood educator, provide the flower in the garden with such an environment.
